05 997 rear trunk lid won't open

I tried to change the oil this weekend and the rear trunk lid is not responding to the release button.

Does anyone know if you can use the duramatic pigtail to open the rear lid or if the software can be used to reset the control?

There is an emergency release wire, but it isn't always routed correctly for you to reach it easily. It is a thin cable with a loop on the end. If it is routed correctly, you should be able to find it by using a flashlight and looking up under the bumper, just under the drivers side tail light.

There is a picture showing the hole it drops down through in this thread: http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforum...ease-wire.html

Are you saying the electric switch isn't releasing the latch? If so, Durametric isn't going to provide any power to the switch and there is no reset. Finding the cable is the best solution. Once it's open then you can troubleshoot the switch.

I was able to pop the hood using the Durametric yesterday. The control is in the front section. I wasn't able to find the control for the rear lid in the rear section.

I learn something new every day. What do you mean by front section?

To pop the hood go to "front" on the menu to the left. under activations use the command "servo motor front lid release" and it should pop the hood.

Back to my problem. Does anyone know if the rear control unit also controls the rear lid?

Fixed.

Little embarrassed but it was a 15amp fuse.

Once you figure out how to open the lid, you might want to extend the cable into the rear wheel well. And ditto for the frunk!
