B16 Damptronic Coilover Height Clarification

Hello and greetings from Australia,

I have done a lot of searching on this but was unable to get the answer I am looking for.

I have a 997.1 C2S with PASM and need to lower the car while keeping the PAMS working. I like the low stance look and drive the car every day. It will not see any track use. The Bilstein B16 Damptronic coilovers Part Number 49-115604 for my model has condradictory figures in lowering height. I have contacted Bilstein and a number of shops in the US and Europe without a single reply, and was hoping someone on this forum who has the coilovers can set the record straight.

The Bilstein website has 2 sets of ride height figures. One is 15~35mm drop and the other shows 30~50mm drop.

If you have the damptronic coilovers, I would love to hear the ride height drop you were able to achieve. The H&R springs get to about 30mm drop and if the coilovers only go to 35mm then I would not be cost beneficial to pay a lot more money for a 5mm drop.

Would also appreciate recommendation of shops who can supply the coilovers.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply mk3boy.
Car looks great and sits just right.

Still haven't got any reply from the shops I have emailed on ride height clarification.
Whatever happened to customer service?

Thanks for providing those extra photos. It has also given me an idea on ground clearance with the GT3 front bar. Any issues here?
Yep totally agree, sits perfect.

Pardon my ignorance, but how do the helper springs work with the spring collars wound all the way down? Do you wind down the collars and compress the helpers, or is there a mechanical stop?

helper spring just there to make sure their is always tension and spring doesn't dangle. I used to remove them on all my vw's to make it go lower... no biggie. Scrapes less lowered then stock, stock it has lots nose rake. drop is level on mine front and back
