What %tint did you go for the different windows? I am researching this topic and interested in your opinion. Thanks.

I had read somewhere on here or rennlist that the gundo hack vs. fister was was an east coast / west coast thing. Mr. Gundo being from the east, and Mr. Fister being from the west. The mod is the same.

A lot of folks really like working with Darin so the FD cans have been making their way back east more frequently.

After all this chatter I've decided it's time. I've been putting it off for months!

My appointment at FD Motorsports is this afternoon.

Stoked.

I went with 20% all around. We can't go too dark here in CA. Because if the front windows have any tint at all they can ticket you.

Met Darin at his shop today, and had the Fister D mufflers installed - quick and painless, what a great guy. Loves his Porsches, and super passionate about the quality of his product.

Fired up the car, and and it's great that first time it throttles up when you're standing behind the pipes. I said, "It must be a great job... to be a smile administerer" because the first time you hear it, your smile goes ear to ear.

Thanks 997dude for inspiring me to just get out there and get it done.
Good times.

- Dan

Very cool and congrats ! I will be getting my gundo hack done at a shop in San Jose on Tuesday ! If for some reason they can't do it on Tuesday, I will look into doing the Fister instead

Well, how do you like your SJ-Gundo with the 1.5" pipe? Are you stoked?

I got a great testimonial yesterday: my girlfriend & I had driven down to Santa Clara to pick up a new car for her (MBZ sedan) - and she followed me back up to Marin. Nice sunset drive on the 280 north.

When we got home, instead of raving about HER new car, she kept going on about how badass MY car sounded on the freeway!

She said it sounded "like a swarm of muscle-bees" idling past everyone on the road.

That's definitely a first. Haha!

I don't know what muscle-bees are, but I assume they lift weights & don't take a lot of guff.

Guys, it's awesome ! It ended up taking all day but they were able to get the 2in pipe. So I ended up with the 2in. It sounds really really nice. Much better than I thought. From a cold start the idle is super deep and the sound is there when u get on the gas but when not on the gas, there's no drone at all. It's such a better sound than stock ! Deep and raspy, I would have said it sounds like my car has a cold but I like your analogy better Definitely a swarm of muscle bees that may or may not be on steroids haha

Honestly, it is a very nice sound and if anyone is thinking about doing it, I would definitely say go for it !

Anyone with a gundo hack in south florida (Miami-FLL-Palm beach)

Anyone here with a gundo hack in Southern Florida willing to share her/his experience ? Where, who, how much, when, and if possible, where could we hear the sound in south Florida? Cheers!

Gundo hack

Hi guys - you basically can't go wrong.

Only risk I've seen is that if you use a muffler shop that doesn't really know what they are doing, they can drop metal into the cans when cutting the holes - could lead to rattling....

Also, I don't sell hacked cans...just promote the idea of loudness!

Gundo
