Viseeo MOS1B Install

Hey all. I received my Viseeo phone integration kit for my 2006 C2S recently and I'm looking to do the install this weekend. The instructions are shall-we-say, sparse. Anyone know if power should be switched or unswitched? Where in the MOST loop it should be installed? Other manufacturers use switched from the PCM and yet others say unswitched! MOST loop!?! Anyone's best guess?
Thanks, Z

Okay, so I installed the Viseeo phone integration kit today in my 2006 C2S. The car has Nav, CD changer, Sat Radio. I used unswitched power from the back of the head unit and installed it last in the MOST loop. My changer and all other MOST "boxes" remain installed and useable. I yet haven't determined where to permanently attach the microphone but I am thinking it'll end up in the map light plastic surround with a custom grill fitted with the wiring run behind the trim and beneath the headliner. Once fully installed it initially kept displaying " No Changer found No Navigation found". I finally checked the power cable (there is no LED etc). and found the fused tap wasn't completing the circuit so i cut it out and replaced it with one left over from another project. Once I fixed this everything worked great. This unit doesn't stream music which is fine. All the other functionality is there, head unit, keypad, steering controls Bluetooth etc. but it's a little klunky (thanks PCM 2.1 ).I adjusted the speaker volume via key entry initially and enabled the phonebook. I called my landline and recorded a message which seemed fine. It transitions between music (head unit) and phone without issue, even with multiple calls. it isn't throwing any error messages either on the PCM or Durametric. Ultimately it is exactly what I wanted! A integrated phone w/bluetooth capability using the factory hardware that looks and works seamlessly! Misssion accomplished!

Well done. You should write up the experience and put it in the DYI section.

Does anyone know how one might change the number dialed when the PCM 2.1 SOS button is pressed? i can't get any info from DIAMP in Taiwan (manufacturer) or Incarhandsfree in the UK (from where my Viseeo unit was puchased). Is anyone with the factory car phone module aware of a method to change it in their porsche system? Mine dials 112, a common SOS number in the EU. The tech from incarhandsfree believes it is the pcm selecting this. I kinda doubt it otherwise lots of PCMer's with phones would be complaining!

Sounds like a great install!

I am holding off making this upgrade because i want Bluetooth sound/external music..

Dension appears to be bugged and I had a Dension product in a VW and had a similar "almost good enough" experience...

Has anybody had this product working as advertised with A2DP music working?

if not I am forced to look at the more expensive options.

I have a Dension. Bluetooth and direct iPhone connection via USB crashes the system. Turning off bluetooth, and using auxiliary input works.
Therefore, i cannot recommend the Dension as it does NOT operate per spec.

The hang up with most of the aftermarket units in my research seems to be centered around the bluetooth streaming music thing and is complicated by cabling. I've listened to a few folks units (Dension, when their music worked correctly) and wasn't really impressed with the quality of playback or the spotty function. On the other hand, where the interface was purely designed to use an iPod type device it sounded OK (Mobridge). Me, I just wanted the phone to work, the music comes from the 3.8's lungs at >5K.

Just a little update. The Viseeo MOS-1B still works great! I installed the Mic in the switch panel for the interior lights forward of the sunroof. I'm told that with the car hustling along folks here me OK via the system, but they say I sound as if I am a long way from the microphone. I was never able to solve the 411 dial (Verizon) when pressing the SOS button. DIAMP indicated it is a PCM 2.1 thing. They also said the unit does stream music but it'll only come from certain speakers. I have it switched off. And no, I havent tried it.
