I got my first 911 in 1993 when I returned to the States from the UK. I wanted a sports car, having owned a beginner, 300Z previously, and my in-laws owned a Nissan/BMW store. My wife didn't like buying from family and, at the price point for the 300ZX or M,3 I figured I could get a nice used 911. I bought a well maintained 1987 911 and since then the 911 is all I have wanted to drive.

 

My 997S was my 39th (and supposed to be my last) Porsche and I bought it to do one thing with. To completely take it apart (warranty was void 24 hrs after I purchased it, it never went back to the dealer again), and build something that I designed that was the perfect car for me. That was 8 years ago and I am still making tweaks to those changes and designs. I wanted something unique that could not be duplicated and that is what I have. To some it is a loud scary loony death trap to me it is my favorite car of all time, and considering what I have owned, that is saying a lot. By the way #40 Panamera 4S sits in the garage next to it. Looks like 41 might be coming soon!
