TPMS Learning Process/Malfunctioning
TPMS Learning Process/Malfunctioning
Hello.,
I recently replaced the my TPMS sensors on my Porsche Carrera 2007. (TITIAN TPMS from OEMWHEELS. (http://www.oewheelsllc.com/TPMS-Sens...T#.U9P_hl7Ylbw)
Im having an issue with the TPMS relearning. Though I have the right pressure(37 front and 44 rear) in the wheels and the sensor is also reading it correctly, Im getting a warning that the air pressure is 4 psi low on front wheel. I did all learning procedure indicated but still Im having this issue.
So should I have to return it and get HUF OEM sensors? Will it resolve this issue or is there a way I can resolve it with Titan TPMS sensor as well.
Regards,
Barney

Thanks Fahrer.!
When I did it for the first time, the old sensors were there in the car. But when I did it for the 2nd and 3rd time (I re-learned the system multiple times) the sensors were no where near the car. So I may have ti reach to OEM for guidance. Appreciate your information.

You might try this: Set pressures at 45-50 psi which should be sufficient to reset the system. Then, initiate the learning process and drive around until it's "learned". Let the car sit overnight and when the tires are cold the next morning, bleed them down to your desired pressures. I use this process after deliberately running low pressures at the track and the system says all my tires are flat and 10-15 lbs underinflated (yea, right). Also, please know that the tpms system is notoriously inaccurate and it doesn't matter if you run genuine Porsche parts or aftermarket ones. I routinely see pressure differentials of 4-6 psi between front-to-front or rear-to-rear tires when I know they are equal and correctly set. The only trick is getting the idiot lights and chimes to turn off. You should not be using the system to set tire pressures but rather rely on a good gauge. About the only thing the system is good for is to let you know when there might be a slow leak which you can then confirm with your tire gauge. Other than that, the system is just a pita.
I did not know the system can be disabled with Durametric. Next time I have issues, that's what I'll have done.

I had this problem. I had to take the car back to the tire shop. They determined it was because of the sensors that had installed. They replaced the sensors with different ones, and they worked fine. I do not know which aftermarket brand had the issues, or which aftermarket brand they replaced with.

And, since their use in the USA became obligatory in 2007, we can add yet another dubious accomplishment to the republican administration of G. Dubya Bush who managed to find time in between starting wars to etch the current scheme into stone!
So, as convenient as some find it to blame the current incumbent for everything under the sun and then some, I'm afraid Barry gets a pass on this one........
As Sgt. Joe Friday would have said, "Just the facts ma'am, just the facts........"
Great, another thing wrongly attributed to Reagan, like tearing down the Berlin Wall. Seriously, if we want to just pin TPMS on any leader that happened to be in office in 86, you could say "Thanks Mr Gorbachev". If anything, at least pick the right country then, and say "Danke Herr Kohl".
Do send pictures.. I'll love seeing how you try to apply your tire gauge to the wheel stems while going down the highway at 60mph.
