Would you buy a Porsche without a garage??
I think it's implied above but just to be clear....
Dust will ultimately be collected by the "inside" face of the car cover. Ultimately, unless very carefully and regularly cleaned, your car cover would act like a sandpaper against the paint. And yes, it gets pretty old taking the cover off an on. Just a thought!

My poor Cayenne S got moved outside of the garage to make room for another Porsche
I have to give extra love to the Cayenne now to keep the paint looking good. Get the car clay barred and waxed a couple times a year and wash it regularly. Add some clear coat protectant after the washes too.. Make sure to get a porsche fitted sunscreen to protect the dash and use it all the time. tint side window or get side sunshades for the side windows too... anything to protect interior from fading or drying out...
If you have your heart set on a 911... go for it... just don't be shocked when you suddenly become obsessed and meticulous about keeping her clean

I actually hold off my Porsche purchase until I acquired a garage. Before that I also parked my cars in a gated area, and I wouldn't think of buying a Porsche in that situation.
Why? Because my cars got mysterious dents and scratches in the parking area. It doesn't matter how careful you protect your car; your car is completely at the mercy of other people's parking skills.
If most of your neighbors also own high end cars, then it might be okay.

This is so silly. So you are going to deny yourself and enjoyable car because why? It is not a Faberge egg! Sheesh!
I had my 2000 Boxster S in a sort-of-car-port.... it was under a partial overhang in Center City Philly for about 7 years. I then moved to where I had a garage.
Look at it!!! This is at around 150-175K miles. The front bumper and hood had been replaced/repainted a few times, but from the front fenders back.... all original. The filth from the Philly air was awful and gritty. So what was the big deal?

or this link..... Google ruined their photo tools.... sheesh!

C'mon, stop this silliness.

Yes, I would. I know many down town that park them on the street! I can't believe some are suggesting picking the colour of the car based on where you are going to park it. I miss a garage more because it makes DIY maintenance somewhat inconvenient

My Landcruiser was garaged before acquiring the 3rd Porsche. Though the protected the inside, the sun faded the paint, the rubber around the windows, the plastic outside, the side mirrors started to fall off, windows started to have mineral deposits, rolling the windows started to be noisier, etc.
The sun, UV, rain, wind, nighttime moisture/condensation, heat, etc can really age any vehicle. At the minimum, get the car cover and live with it.
Just note that you will enjoy the Porsche but...."you will enjoy it a lot more if you own a garage."

Sure! Why not? Just have the car washed weekly if it's your daily driver and have it detailed on a regular bases. Some car dealers park their inventory outdoors year round without any major issues. They usually wash and detail the car before selling it.
Not only are they stored outside, but most imports come on a boat that is out in the ocean months at a time, some of these cars are out in the elements, wash it once a week and wax once in a while and it should be fine, the car is made to be driven and enjoyed, not to be kept inside an airtight garage.
Try looking for one that's not in pristine condition to start with- you can save some $ and not be so worried about what will happen. Like after you get your first scratch or ding and finally realize you can stop worrying about now - it's happened -
Drive the hell out of it and when you get that garage buy a new one or restore what you have
