My 2006 C4 has a weird issue with a parking light. It looks as if a little cover for a bulb has worked itself loose. The dealership says it can't be repaired and the entire assembly ($300) will need to be replace. They say it isn't covered under by CPO agreement because bulbs aren't covered. I haven't gone to the GM yet, but it seems to me it should be covered because it isn't really a bulb issue. Just looking for opinions from the group. Thanks.

 

That seems like a fix they should make. Doesn't look bulb related to me.

You problem looks like defect in workmanship, which should be covered.

 

I heard from a dealer that Porsche has been recently been auditing dealerships and their warranty repairs. If Porsche corporate determined a warranty repair was inappropriate, the dealer was made to pay for it. Some dealers have apparently had to pay large sums money back to Porsche.

Clearly this would make the dealers paranoid and tends to make them reject more repair requests. It is my understanding that you can ask them to appeal their decision to corporate. They were just hoping you'd suck it up so they wouldn't have to deal with any questions about it.

 

My dealer told me the same. They said PCNA requires pictures of all warranty repairs and has become very strict on covering repairs, especially on modded cars.
