Gundo vs Cargraphic

Hey guys,

Sorry for another post on Gundo.... for those who have experience with Gundo and Cargraphics:

1) would the Gundo sound as loud as Cargraphic (I never get to hear the sound of Gundo and I'm sure the youtube clips don't do justice)?
2) apart from sound, would the Cargraphic have any significant advantage over the stock muffler (i.e.: weight, flow... etc)?

Currently I have the Cargraphic Super Sound on my 2006 C2S.1, I like it and I have nothing to complain about.

And while my car was being transformed with a new bodykit and converting to .2 recently, I also did the Gundo hack with to stock muffler that was sitting in the store room. The purpose was so that I can switch to Gundo-hacked muffler and resell the Cargraphic. But I don't want to do risk getting less noise because the new look of the car really need the noise to complement it.

Thanks.

I'd really suggest that you just try it. It's not that hard to change the mufflers. If you change and don't like it as much you can switch it back. Takes two to three hours each change just working with the car jacked up (and with safety stands of course). Bumper removal is not needed despite some saying so.

I tried multiple exhaust configurations before I settled on the one I liked best. Just FYI, I seem to be one of the rare people that didn't like the Gundo sound on my 997.1 and took it back off. It was just too raw sounding to me. I gather the results are different on a 997.2 due to the center muffler, but that is one option I didn't try on the .2 since I was unhappy the first time around on the .1.

Thanks. Problem is I live in a city and don't have my own garage and jack to do this.

"raw sounding" on the Gundo, was it the throaty / crackling type of sound? Thx.

Understood. As an alternative: I would guess a muffler shop could do it for a couple of hours labor... having it on a lift and having professional tools would allow them to work faster.

Its a bit hard to describe. For me, the 997.1 Gundo (Fister actually) was a bit too loud at even low RPM in my fairly quiet neighborhood and had to much of what I think of as a partially unmuffled sound as opposed to a throaty sound. It did have the off-throttle crackle that was nice. For me the full throttle high-RPM (3600+) volume was too loud as well. My current car has PSE mufflers and sounds just right by comparison. It is all really just personal opinion/preference though. Many others love the Gundo... I seem to be in the minority.

Thanks again for the input. It does sound like I should spend the money and give gundo a shot.

Thanks.

Dude, I love the sound of my gundo hack. Especially the raspy/deep cackle when letting off the gas around 3.5-4k rpms.
