Daytime Running Lights
Not that I'd label myself as a libertarian (small 'l') but up to the point that daytime running lights become a law, whether or not someone wants to be less visible and less safe is none of my business. That said, my DRLs are enabled, not because I want to be more visible but because I just don't care whether they are on or off. How this may or may not impinge on the exterior look of my car looks is irrelevant to me.
Also, in my experience, I have many fewer close calls. My wife and I live in a lightly trafficked neighborhood with lots of 3- and 4-way stops, and some cars would simply blow through. With our 2011 vehicles (mine, Audi Q5, hers, 911 S Cab) and DRLs, people see us coming and actually stop and let us pass. Same for lane changes on highways and Interstates.
Visibility is your friend, my friends.
