Purchased the dectane lights from a group buy on this forum several weeks back and today I just realized that the BRAKE light shows up as a C shape, and does not go all the way around.
I thought that was ironed out years ago and the current dectanes light up all around. Can someone confirm how the brake light looks on their dectane lights? This is how MINE look (not my car)...is that correct? Or did I get an OLDER pair of dectanes
No, that is right, dectanes has always been like this, nothing is wrong with your lights.
OK interesting - wonder why the lights were never changed to light up all around as it looks partially 'unfinished' to me. Love everything else about the lights including fit/finish but that brake light pattern just seems pure goofy to me.
What are these ones then? Scroll down to see the night shot of the brake light, it lights up the whole way around, I would buy these if I could find them, but I am not buying a set of dectanes if they only light up half of the light.
Those are Dectanes, and they only light up part of the light when braking. You can see it in the photos if you look closely. When the headlights are on, the entire light does light up - it's only braking that lights part of the tail light. That's the way they were designed.
1. When the headlights are on, the LED's are all on. Correct?
2. When you brake, you have a C-shape light pattern. Correct?
If the headlights are on and you brake, what do you get? If the answer is, "you get a C-shape", can it be wired so that #1 above is always true?
Just asking since I may eventually get these lights, though I tend to favor the full-circle brake light patter. Unfortunately, I would agree that inverted "C-shape" looks goofy; if it were the other way around, it 'might' not be as bad.
