I don't own anything that color, but if my Guards Red P car had been Speed yellow I would have still bought it and liked it just as well. I have a friend with a SY GT3 and it is a great looking car. No color is going to please everybody. I personally don't care that much for black, primarily because of the extra care and cleaning that is necessary to keep the car looking good. I owned a black C6 Corvette that looked great for about 15 minutes after I detailed it and then every speck of pollution in the air started showing up, not to mention the color magnified every scratch and ding.

It's your choice, so don't worry about other people's opinions.

Thanks for the info.
My 996TT was black and yes....what a PITA!

I'm not really looking for peoples opinion on the color, more how people felt after buying a SY car.
My concern is buying a SY 997TT as a DD then hating the color down the road.

I have a speed yellow 997.1 C2S coupe and I like the color very much. It's my semi DD, don't drive her on rainy days. Also I get lot of compliments every where.. It's beautiful and happy color in my opinion.

Smile Love the speed yellow

I was in the market for a 911 and the dealer called about a C4. Then I learned the color and I winced. But I said I'd come look at it. I loved it and I get lots of positive comments on it.

You will definitely be noticed in SY. You can see that color a long way away. The main reason I sold my SY 997.1 was that it was an '08 and in 2011, with specs/pics of the 991 available, I decided I didn't like it and picked up a PTS GTS, probably as the 911 that I'll keep for a long time. That aside, it (the SY) was a great DD and to some extent I miss the color only slightly less than I like turquiose blue.

The big benefit of SY is that you'll never see any pollen on it - the bad side is that a lot of insects will be drawn to it.

I love my speed yellow 997. I've had it a year, and would do it again in a heartbeat.

At this point, I rather have a speed yellow than a black car. Too OCD for own black. SY is a bright color so not for everyone.

I think Speed Yellow is a great color for a sports car, 911 or otherwise. I got tired of my Meteor Gray 911 faster than I have tired of my current 911 in a much brighter shade. Every time you see it you will think about how different your car looks than 99% of the 911s on the road. To me, that's a good thing.

Yes definitely good for attention (if you want that) - and looks clean all the time. I had a yellow S2K years ago (that was not my first choice of color)...but after owning it for over 4 years i came away knowing that was probably the best choice for that car. 997s look great in sy if done up (black wheels, tint, etc)

Fun color and as others, I get a lot of compliments on it.
It's rare so you definitely wont blend in with all the Camry's and Accords on the road.

Thanks for the input guys.
I'm looking at a 997TT. Another one of my concerns would is the color might get unwanted attention from those that hand out tickets...lol
