So my brake service light came on today. How long can I drive safely before getting service now? I plan to get the brakes replaced late next week but have some driving to do before then.

There's still a good amount of pad left. You should be fine for at least another 1000 miles.

Depends if you do it yourself are pay a shop. Parts maybe $500. Add $1000 at a shop (?).

 

I recently paid my indy $1,500 for all four corners, without new rotors. He turned my old ones, warning me that they might squeal, but I would save a bundle. I never had squeal, but one of my front rotors had issues. I'm not sure if it was the way they were cut, or if I drove them through water while hot and warped one. I ended up getting a pair of turned rotors from Pure 9 for around $130 delivered, and they've been great so far, for the last 2k miles or so.
