997 Purchasing Pointers
I like the Tubi option better than the PSE, same money, PSE weighs a little more, not even close w regards to finish, just keep below 3k rpm, very quiet. Every few weeks there is a thread "PSE not working…".
Couldn't wait to use up stock Pirellis.
B&M is very good, the Numeric unit is a more substantial shifter.
Look for some light weight wheels over stock Porsche wheels, seriously ck the DME read out.
Don't be in a rush. Good Luck.

Definitely not in a rush however. I really hope that I can get into one in time for spring/early summer 2015, but if the right one doesn't pop up, I"m not rushing this.
What is the DME read out? I am researching it now... I know what a DME is obviously, I take it these cars give some sort of diagnostic information?
Also, what the hell is a numeric shifter? Researching that as well lol
I believe the relevance of the DME readout is that it stores the number and the severity of any engine over-rev events that may have occurred in the past. If it's a PDK car it probably isn't important because (theoretically) transmission software should prevent over-revs but for cars with manual transmissions this could be an indicator of whether or not the car in question was abused/tracked/whatever.

Question... is navi standard? I figured it was since every car I see has the same radio/nav.
Sport seats, turbo rim upgrade, spoiler, sport exhaust... really just isn't going to make or break it for me. In fact Chances are I'll keep it mostly stock except for adding a spoiler (duck or turbo look?) and then going with an exhaust system.
Nav is not standard. It's a highly overpriced option with last-century technology. It often comes with the "premium" sound system, for around $4K new. It's difficult and expensive to replace, since it's all fiber optic and proprietary. You need to spend a few hundred bucks for a kit just to remove it. If I had to do it again, I would hunt for one with no premium sound or nav, and then upgrade with an aftermarket sound/nav/bluetooth system.

This x 100.
Porsche is awful, when compared to many other Nav systems. Bose was meh.
Take that money and buy some new wheels from Champion or HRE.
