VR Tuning vs. Softronics

Something tells me that the two are more similar than they are different. I pulled the trigger on the VR Tuned version yesterday. Although I don't have anything to compare it to either, I'll report my experiences once installed. I am stoked!
Dumb question: I don't own a PC (Apple household), and the software installation requires Windows. Both VR and Softronics require this. I may just try to borrow a PC, but is there an easy way to boot up a Mac Airbook to be able to do this? I want to hit the ground running.

It works just fine and just like a PC (but switching between the Mac use of Command vs Control for the PC takes a bit of getting used to). You have to buy a copy of Windows to install on the Windows partition, but you only need the basic home version which sells for about $120. It requires at least 30GB of free space for the install to work. You can set aside more if you expect to need more Windows data on the drive, but 30GB is sufficient if you only need it for rare special uses. Note that this 30GB is a unique partition for Windows and isn't shared with the space used for OSX... so you lose 30GB of your available OSX space.

Update: I caught the Cyber Monday bug and got the IPD plenum on sale at Suncoast, at 25% off. I pulled the trigger 10 mins before the clock ran out. Now I may need more than just my Gundo hack on the exhaust side . . .

+1... So did they not offer the GT3 TB as well on sale? Out of all my mods... The IPD plenum and gt3 TB remain my favorite. But, to stay on topic, as I like my softronics tune on my NA 3.8.... it....Maybe Porsche in general, doesn't take to a tune how I hoped it would like previous NA German cars did.... (04 S4/ JHM tune), and MkIV r32 with United Motorsports tune.

I went with the standard 74mm plenum, after a great deal of consideration. The published numbers, which I don't put much stock in, we very close between that and the competition plenum with GT3 throttle body. The cost difference was about $400. Not huge, but significant. Finally, I believe the smaller plenum will produce most of its gains in the low to mid range. The larger one shows its mettle more at the top end, so I wouldn't enjoy it as much. It's similar to header pipe diameter, as I understand it, i.e., lager pipes, more top end power/torque.

I'm glad to hear that. It's always hard to resist doing just a little more of anything, but sometimes less is more. Did you do anything wi your exhaust! I actually just started a new thread on "what's next?"
