So true - I wanted something different, sold my 40th Anniversary to get into a 2008 E60 M5 - V10 was great...SMG worst transmission I've ever experienced - after 6 months sold the M5 and got into 2008 997.1 TT. Four years later, wanted something different, sold the TT to get into a E92 M3 - great engine and DCT much better than SMG...but I think you know where this is headed. Six months ago sold the M3 and am now in a 2012 GTS - love the car - I think I've learned my lesson.

This begs the question, why did you buy a Porsche in the first place?

Some answers, I bought the 911 trading in a 2013 BMW 650i because I'd always wanted a 911 and I happened on a good one. Before the BMW 650 I had a 2013 M3. I change cars a lot ( too often ) and a 991 911S or even a 997 GTS may be in the future. My M5 lease is so good it would be no problem to get out if I want to. The amazing thing about 911s is how many extremely low mileage used ones are available.

Brother you sound like a BMW guy, and frankly the new M5 look awesome. If you think the M5 fit into your lifestyle, GO FOR IT. None of us will or can do anything for you or your driving pleasure, but I hope to see you back in a 911 again soon. Happy New Year

Depreciation $930.64, Interest $237.59, Tax $81.79, Lease Payment $1250.02. They paid ALL the drive off which would have been $1967.72 at this BMW dealer because they have a $499 dealer fee. Also, I get $1,000 from the BMW car club. One way to evaluate a lease is to calculate your total cost and divide by MSRP. 40% is excellent. This lease is 34.37%. ( $1250.02*35 minus $1000 = $42,750.70 / $124,385 = .3437 ).
Very nice deal you got. Nothing wrong with taking $17K off MSRP. Still, quite a bit of scratch for a car every month.

I came close to leasing a 550i Msport before I found my 997 (10-12K off MSRP would have been the deal). The spreadsheet told me monthly depreciation would be similar to the used P-car. Problem was I just couldn't warm up to the F10.
