Question to those with aftermarket Aero/GT3 declid wing
I have done research on the previous threads. Narrowed it down to NR Auto and Extreme dimensions decklids. I have experience with NR Auto in the past, quite pleased. However Extreme has a wing more budget friendly. Does anyone have one on one experience with the product?
Evil997, you are the man ! Thanks for taking the time to post the pics. I have 2 questions for you:
1. What is the install like? Do you need to remove the stock spoiler and wiring harness?
2. What are your thoughts on the overall quality and fitment?

Evil997 - love the GT3 wing and lid.
Question - is it absolutely necessary to replace the rear bumper when installing the GT3 wing? The top of the rear bumper appears to have outlet slits. The top of the GT3 rear lid has air intake lids. I assume the bumper slits allow the air to exit after the intake on the lid?
Am I correct to assume that if one replaces just the lid with the GT3 wing and lid (with the intake slits) and does not replace the rear bumper, that could lead to too much heat in the engine compartment?
The reason I ask is I kind of like the look of my widebody car with the wing but with the regular bumpers.

no not necessary at all. You can keep your bumper and replace the decklid/wing assembly.

The bumper does not need replaced. You do need to install a GT3 wing harness and have the error fault code programmed out. A beep goes off whenever you reach speed. No big deal as mine still needs programmed.
Quality and fitment is good. My wing does need a little more adjustment. When I open the decklid the blade of the wing actually sits on the third brake light. I probably need to bore out the mounting holes a little in order to make the clearance.
It is a fiberglass piece so sanding was necessary, as expected. Overall I am very happy with the look of it.

So at this point; understanding all these aftermarket decklid/wing assemblies are made of fiberglass, and they all need massaging by a professional to a certain degree, it is safe to assume price of the decklid/wing should be the deciding factor on the purchase. In other words, why spend $1600.00 when you can have one $900.00? I bet they are all coming from same couple of sources. Am i right?

I was talking to my body shop guy last night and he said when it comes to these aftermarket body parts, there's a huge difference in the amount of prep work they need, depending on where it is from/made.
So Evill997 - im guessing the install process looked something like:
1. Sand/prep/paint
2. Remove old wiring harness and stock spoiler
3. Install new wiring harness and new spoiler
Is that correct?

There is a difference between the Aerokit and GT3 wings. The Aerokit wing works with the stock airbox. Mine went on without a hitch. I believe the GT3 wing draws intake air differently, and requires some plumbing mods. Is there anyone here with a true GT3 wing that knows for sure?
I conducted quite a bit of research on the topic before I sold my C4s and I would have purchased the Precision Porsche spoiler based on forum member feedback on fitament and minimal prep work for the body shops they used.
