My IMS is leaking!

I have been dreading this day, I have been seeing a larger and larger spot of oil under my car. I finally deciede to do something about it and brought it to my independent Porsche mechanic. My car has the updated dual row bearing.

At 47000 miles the clutch which worked well and felt fine looked like this! The clutch disc was thin but the pressure plate was scored.

And my clutch slave cylinder was leaking. Hard to see but there was a lot of fluid leaking inside the bell housing.

So if the IMS looks good when the cover comes off I am going to install the Dirrect Oil Feed adapter to prevent any further trouble, a new clutch and pressure plate, new slave cylinder, clutch fork and bearing.

While it's there I am going to do some suspension mods. Just last week I installed RSS engine mounts, easiest mod ever and their beautiful, too bad there hard to see.

Sorry to hear that. It looks like you are doing a great job taking care of the car's needs though. Thanks for sharing the detailed pictures. Now i know that to look for if anything happens.

PS. Do you mind sharing which independent Porsche shop you use? Looking for a reliable shop in Long Island. Thanks!

I did not know if it was ok to mention the shop on the site.
It's at South Shore Performance, I know Bill Ruttner for a few years, he is the head DE instructor for the METRO PCA. Over the years my Porsche buddies and I have become friends and they have used his shop. This is the first time I have had the chance to use his shop. I feel confident with him and so far he's been very communicative. More pictures to follow.

Perhaps the bearing is OK and it is only a leaky outer seal?
