Would you trade in your 911 for the new GT4...

It has finally happened. A younger brother of the GT3... Motor from a 911 S... Exact same suspension and brakes as the GT3... Looks that could be described as automotive ****... Starting price in the high $80k range... A proper stick to play with... Would you, could you, trade in your 911 for this special car... I think I might.

Super tempting... Maybe second-hand in a few years.

The GT4 did the nurburgring in 7 min 40 seconds, which is the same time as the 2011 GT3. However, the 997.2 C2S did it in 7 min 37.9 seconds. Hmmm...

I wouldn't give up my 997.1TT for the GT4, but I would trade in my 997 S for the GT4 without a doubt. This is a very good addition to my garage, I can't wait to drive and feel the car handling.....

Very tempting but I'm sure prices are not yet attractive and trading in would incur a bug hit. This could be in the pipeline though. And yes the gt4 is auto ****.

2 seconds at the ring is small enough to be anything -- driver error, track temp, air temp.

I wouldn't consider either time "better" or "worse" than the other.

I'm almost certain the GT4 is going to be THE car that people are scrambling for, for years to come. Think of it as the new 997.1 GT3.

Outstanding compliment to a PDK equipped 911 (unless you already own a GT3!)

Absolutely, I was thinking of purchasing a used GT3, but now I can get a new GT4 with everything I want, including a warrenty for less.

I certainly would like to test drive one, but I see it more as a compliment to the 997 than a replacement.

Priced one on web, $93K is what came out. Priced new Carrera S, with power kit, sport this and that and it came to $160K. Can't afford new of either but would still stick with the Carrera.

Probably not, it's not faster than my 997, if I didn't have a TPC turbo on mine, I would most likely trade in my C4S. Some say that the interior is too luxurious for a sports car but after owning my 981 for five months, going back into the cabin of the 997 seems archaic. The GT4 is a very nice looking and great handling car. 385hp mid engine is definitely car ****.
