Driver's side door noise! Help!
Driver's side door noise! Help!
Hi,
yet another annoyance with my 997. Hoping someone is able to help!
I don't know if this noise has always been there or if it's a new thing...I was actually fighting a different noise for the past months (!), which I finally got rid off, only to find another highly irritating one. My driver's side door seems to be "moving" or "vibrating" - just very slightly - whenever the vehicle goes over bumps or rough roads. This causes both an irritating window noise and another - HIGHLY annoying - "plunking" or rather "sucking" noise around the door latch area, most likely caused by the rubber seals. Has anyone else ever seen (or rather heard) this? I've already tried treating the seals with all kinds of stuff - they do look a little worn, but I don't think that's the issue. Is it possible the door is slightly out of alignment? I also get wet door carpets - a common issue, apparently, but that seems to be caused by the door internals IIRC and specifically the membrane in there. Maybe this is all connected?
Would really appreciate any advice! Already had my OPC look at it while the car was getting something else done - they had no idea either (as usual).
