Annoying Rattle/Creeking

I have an annoying rattle/Creeking noise coming from the roof behind and above driver's head. Above the headliner there seems to be a wire strung from one side of the to the other. If I reach up and back ad press it (while driving) the noise disappears.

Does this sound familiar? Any idea what the wire is, how to access it and can it be tightened?

I had the same thing (tension spring). Brought the car to a local upholstery shop and $60 later it was fixed.

Was curious about this since I didn't know such a thing existed. I could be wrong but it appears to be one of two parts in the diagram here: http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-p...=99755660300#a. I'm thinking it is either part #21 (Sound absorber tensioner) or the strut that attaches to part #8 (support for the tranverse strut - maybe the support broke?).

You can likely see what the problem is by lifting the top halfway and looking in. After that, you are on your own.
