Another new owner

Hello all Im new to the forum and by new I mean I joined about a week ago. Im super excited to say ive finally taken ownership of my first 911 last night. Like so many have always wanted one, I too have always wanted one since childhood. In my 20s I started out with a 300zx from there and years later to the 350z. With a better job intact I then moved up to a 2 year old 98 vette that turned into a new 06 vette. Then to my srt-10 which I loved but put 3400 miles on in 5 years. Ended up selling my toys and felt empty for about 2 years. but knowing I needed a rocket strapped to my ***, And have always had that need for speed mentality I wanted some thing different. Always wanting the Porsche so I started to entertain the idea of owning one. But I have a particular look that I had to have. So the wide body was a given, a must have. I've always liked the mid 90s body style, but I prefer new over old so I knew it was going to be a newer vehicle although brand new was out of the question. And with all the oil seals/bearing issues of the 05-08 I opted for the 09 or newer(pertaining to the 3.8L im not sure of the other 2 engines if they had similar issues). But I wanted the one with the most HP available which was the 3.8L(wasn't looking at the GTs or the turbos). So I zeroed in on the 09-11 C4S 911s. And ended up with an 09 C4S Cabriolet. My first convertible and as a sports car I wasn't sure I wanted the convertible top. I wont be racing this vehicle nor will it see any track time. But what it will see is plenty of sunshine and some upgrades to finish off the look id like to see from this vehicle. Wife talked me into dropping the top on our ride back home. And I must say I really enjoyed it. Reminded me of the 06 vette with the removable clear top that I had. Was a great ride home in the Porsche. Only thing im not liking about the car so far is im not able to use my sd card. Which has all my music on it and the CD I burned wasn't recognized in the cd player. Bummer cuz I love my music! Here is a photo of the vehicle on the ride home.

Nice!

How's the cabin/wind noise in the cab? I like verts, really enjoyed my last one, but for a 911 I always imagined that I'd want a hard top. Maybe I should consider a vert in my search.

Well, it's a convertible, so ... but not bad. My wife uses the windscreen unless we have our "bobbles" (children, tiny 14-year-old girl and growing 10-year-old boy) in the back. But there's nothing like open-air motoring. My wife is now on her 3rd convertible (BMW Z3, Audi S4, and now the 997.2S Cab). She'll never go back!

P.S. Where in CO? We were just in Denver last month visiting my BIL, who's in the Stapleton neighborhood, Uinta Street within walking distance of Northfield Mall.

Thnx as far as cabin noise I didn't think it was bad at all. Just cruising around 45-50 mph w/o wind screen installed. And yeah I'm glad I opted for the cabriolet instead on sunroof.

A cabriolet is perfect for Colorado. There is some point in every month of the year when I've got the top down. My 997 TT cabriolet is quieter with the top up than my old 996 C4S coupe was! The tops on these cars are very good.

Yep, over 300 days of sunshine a year, plenty of days with the top down, although it doesn't looked too good for the last week and a half. I've been in Colorado since 1987 and this is the first year that it's been raining the entire week. Sunny days are coming.

Congrats OP!, see that you are giving the Denver Bronco's some love. This is going to be the year since Tom Brady is going to be benched for the year lol.
