997.2S interface - usb - iphone music plug in

The car comes with that cord that lets you plug in your iphone 4 (wider connector) and gives you a nice interface on screen to let you play mp3s from your phone. Since I now have the new iphone with the smaller connector I can no longer use that. I tried an adapter also but it didnt read. Has any one found a solution to this?

Im also wondering what the Usb plug in is for? i tried plugging in a flash dire with music on it but nothing came up. I also tried calling porsche and asking if i could update my software but they said porsche offers nothing for that.

Only thing I can think of is just buy an older iphone/ipod and use it just for the car haha

We use the official Apple adapter for an iPhone 5S and it works just fine. You do have the remove the case though to get a deep enough fit.

I'm lazy, and got annoyed with having to connect and disconnect my iPhone in the center console every time I wanted to listen to iTunes. So I bought a dedicated 160 GB iPod that stays permanently connected via the Porsche cord to run everything through the PCM and controlled through the MF steering wheel controls. I've got about 6,000 songs so I'm only using about 25% of the 160 GB, but I figure I'll keep adding songs so I got the biggest one out there and I hope I eventually fill it up

The iPhone connects via Bluetooth so I can keep it in my pocket while the iPod stays in the center console. I love the set up - I just means I have a dedicated 160 GB iPod that lives permanently in my C4S!

The Apple lighting to 30-pin adapter worked fine for me. But, I hate using wires and my iPhone 6 with an adapter does not even fit inside the console. So, I just got a 32gb USB thumb drive and copied all my MP3 into it and never have to worry about it again other than a taking the thumb drive out occasionally to upload new songs.

By thumb drive do you mean portable flash drive? If so once you plug the flash drive into the usb port. you goto source n click aux or maybe from source you can click usb. cant remember but once I plugged mine in and I went to source n clicked usb it had my list of songs, and also was able to use the audio on side of steering column. hope this helps
