Buy it cash then get the loan afterwards. That's what I did with my car.

It does not appear to be a 4S.

Very true, the 997.1 C4S was introduced in 2006.

Look at the brakes, it's a non S, basically a high mileage base carrera, it's price accordingly, not a deal.

not sure what year 4S started, but should have Quad exhaust tips and S on door sills,,,,,although these are easy to switch

It has the S sport steering wheel, black gauge faces and black shift **** top. This VIN decoder says C2S: http://www.vindecoderz.com/EN/check-...AA29955S715995

AC control switches are worn (typical) and the brake calipers are discolored, the fronts more than the rears. Can't make out the door sill logo but it should say "Carrera S".

Your VIN decoder also says it's a cab

PS - Anyone have info or seen those little psats behind rear wheels before? Not very conspicuous yet seems like just enough to help save some decent wear (I have experienced).

Sorry for size, their picture not mine

Nice catch, that decoder is junk I suppose.

Here's a better VIN decoder http://www.renntech.org/images/vin_d...INDecoder.html Plugging in the VIN it says 3.6-Ltr, 325-bhp, Flat 6-Cyl, 6-Spd Std, 5-Spd Auto, Bosch ME-7.8 Carrera Coupé (USA spec). It's a base coupe.

edit: and everything in the listing says base coupe. The only reference to 4S is in the dealer's description obviously a cut & paste mistake. Everything else says otherwise (Engine Description: 3.6L, Driven Wheels: Rear-Wheel, Drive Train Type: RWD)

So it's a 6-speed Std and a 5-speed Auto?

Despite the screwed up description, it's a nice car. It's not often you see the base model equipped with PASM.

Also, is this Seal Grey or Meteor Grey? I'm thinking Seal, since it's on the option list. I love all of the Porsche Greys, but Seal Grey is especially nice.

Interesting info, the description does say its a 4S and the S steering wheel caught my attention.I guess the original owner did some oem upgrades to it.

My first post was edited so maybe I posted something I wasn't supposed to. Although the miles are sorta high they did tell me car had IMS problem.Ended up with a new engine thru Porsche at 45k or so miles.

Also said its equipped with an AWE exhaust.Even if its a C2S I would still buy it if I could do out of state purchase thru a bank.Being a 1 owner car to me is a big plus.In my search for a car I see a lot of overpriced private seller cars base C2 with 65k miles for $36k or more.Im back to my original search though of around $50k for a lower mile car with oem aero kit.

If you have $50K to spend on a 997, you should be able to find a good one. Aerokitted ones are harder to find but they are out there. Good luck. Don't settle, take your time.

You can't get the seller to provide financing?

I know that dealer very well, I bought about 10 cars (including the 997S cab)from them. If the car is at the warehouse lot that means it is too rough for the Porsche store.
