any reason why?
i've read quite a few posts saying that the OEM one is identical to the B&M one and B&M actually made that for porsche.. is that true? btw have you found anything about the springs for my car?

OEM SSK comes in as one part including the base unit. B&M comes in only the top portion which u need to pop the OEM top off to install the B&M unit. B&M makes the SSK for Porsche that is correct. do a search u'll find many debates between OEM and B&M. not to say B&M will cause any problem in the future but it's a item dealer will ***** about. for peace of mind, ur call.

hopefully i'll find out more info on springs after the SEMA week. almost everyone in the auto biz is crazy this week.

We keep the 45135 B&M in stock and sell them often. Lots of guys swear by it. There is another piece B&M now makes too that is less but harder to install (goes on the tranny). I have all the guys run the regular B&M. Here is a picture of the B&M and stock.

Then, Evo makes a Shift link that helps strengthen the factory part.

We have sold the same one for all 986, 996, 987 and 997. There is a specific kit for the 02 GT2 but it goes on the tranny.

They make a track shifter for the 996. We sell the regular shifter 10 to 1 and then the Evo piece to match.

Bah this is just a personal thing but honestly I _hate_ the one that goes on the tranny. Makes the whole situation worse and sloppier Stick with the in-car one is my opinion We've taken OUT more of the ones on the tranny than actually put them IN. The in-car ones are great tho...

Would you put the in car B & M (or factory) in a GT2 with it's already shortened throws?

I have the B & M shifter and hate it. The original GT2 shifter was far better, smoother, and nearly as short. Drive one before you buy. I am having mine returned to original at next service. I have driven cars TT and C2 with the B & M and I liked it in those cars. Something different about the GT2, Just my opinion.
