Thumbs up 997S Gundo Surgery

Hello,

Thanks for everyones advice during my adventure. When I purschased my car it had everything I wanted and more. I never thoought to look at my mufflers..... Hmmmm because there were none!! I will have to admit it sounded mean and could easily eat any GT3! LOL

I was able to score a pair of OEM mufflers in Dallas. I endured 4 hours of drone hellness!!! The trip back was even worse. I took them to a muffler shop here in Houston and the surgery began. The sound is amazing!!! Its no comparison to sound before. No drone at all, hell its almost too quiet while Im driving. I had to have a friend drive down the street just to hear from the outside. TWO THUMBS UP!! Feed back please!

That looks like a double Gundo
I've seen both versions of the additional pipe, but never seen 2 add on pipes at the same time.
Was that based on your request? I'd be interested to know the background to that.

Sounds like you got a nice deep growl as a result. Very nice.

I was looking and researching online. Sounds like there is minimal difference between mine and gundo or hanksville. You really hear very little in the car which I like. But it does have some grunt to it. Maybe someone will come on and tell me it was best to do one weld or the other. I'm a sponge at this point.

Hey, where in houston did you get this done at. I've always wanted to get this done but was just lazy about finding a show that would do it.
Thanks!

I had the work done at Mayco Xtreme Motorsports near the Heights in Houston. They were great. Total job took about 3.5 hours drive out. I'm happy. Since the surgery, I have absolutely no drone, but I've been told my car sounds awesome. Overall, I'm happy.

Awesome, thanks! Just curious, why'd you get them to do the top curved pipe? I've never seen it done like that.

I'm not sure why they did it like that. They told ne hey had done the modification before so I let them go at it. I'm going by there today, I will find out!! I would need to put my car next to another Gundo to specify the difference. Anyone in the Houston area with Gundos??

I see. It sounds great from the video. I'll probably stop by there Saturday morning. Thanks again for the heads up.

The double Gundo has been around. It resembles the PSE.

Most did not go with the dbl-Gundo due to extra cost.

Sounds awesome! The Gundo hack has to be the best bang-for-the-buck mod on the 997.

If you're looking for a little more noise and still no drone add some 200 cell cats. Sounds amazing with the Gundo hack. Should add some power as well.
