LED DRL Warning Light Issue

I installed a set of LED DRL's from eBay's seller Fishcake321 which is a reputable seller. I installed the lights per the installation guides from this forum and I'm stumped. From the troubleshooting that I've done, the wrap around DRL light bar is throwing the Check Front Side Left and Right Light warning on my dash.

I pulled the lights out and plugged the OEM bulb into the socket and boom the warning is gone. The seller said there isn't a need to add a resistor to the light.

Has this happened to somebody else?

happened to me too. The error only comes on when I have the headlights on. With my headlights off...no error.

I am not an expert, but there are some modules sold on E-Bay or other places that will usually solve the lack of current draw by LED based light equipments.

I have used some of these with success on my BMW 540i, when I installed HID lights in the front.

These modules are not using Resistors in in parallel with the lights, as this way of doing it would be equivalent to having a Bulb plus the LED consumption when the lights are on.

I think they use a capacitor which presents itself as short circuit, when the pulse sent by the control unit (to verify the presence of the bulb) reaches the Light Error Avoidance module. When the light is ON, the capacitor is fully charged and does not react to the constant flow of current coming to it.

Do you mind attaching a link to this type of in-line capacitor?

This is what I used for the HID Halo lights on my BMW 540i:

You may have to check the connectors or adapt them to your needs.

FYI The resistors from Amazon work and eliminate the light error. I used electrical tape on the connections to ensure they don't loosen over time. The resistors do get pretty hot but they're dangling in an open cavity in the front bumper, what's the risk?

kotykb, I also purschased a set from fishcake123 for my 997.1 and have the same problems with the warning light issues. What resistors did u buy from Amazon to fix the warning light issues? It would be much appreciated.
