Rock stuck in the weld bit between the two exhausts pipes. Id say chances are after 10 years of driving you may some stuck around there. The other side was worse, had 4 rocks stuck in there, I had to use a punch and hammer to knock them out.

How does a rock cause drone...vibration noise?

The rocks were stuck but could move against each other if you know what I mean so any vibration would be heard in the exhaust as the revs climbed at a certain frequency or rpm that set off the drone sound.

Ahhhh, I'll need to look for that. I get this weird rattly noise when I lift off throttle occasionally, and right around 28-2900rpm the exhaust is notably louder; that's usually right around 70-75mph where I cruise at. I have to pull the rear bumper to replace one of the bumperettes anyways so I'll check this out and report my findings.

When you pull your rear bumper check the metal bumper bolts underneath. Mine were tight but the bumper could move just a bit, rattling metal on metal. For the longest time it sounded like exhaust rattles. Removed the poly bumper, torqued the metal bumper bolts even more, could no longer move the metal bumper by hand, rattle fixed.
