Rear ended someone with my 997 4s, pay out of pocket or file claim?
You need to know the cost of the repair before your question can be properly answered.
Looks like a bumper and a hood and maybe hood latch area. Maybe no hidden damage if lucky. Not a difficult fix at least. Good luck and sorry for the troubles.

ouch, that suck. Your premium shouldn't go up IF you have accident forgiveness. maybe now is the perfect time to upgrade to a new style bumper? Can you push the hood down where it buckled?

That looks like a $6-7k estimate. You may be able to fix it for less out of pocket if you don't need new bumper and hood (repair instead of replace). Get some estimates from reputable body shops and mobile repair places.
Since you will likely have $10k when factoring the cab, insurance makes more sense. You will likely end up with a mark on carfax though.

i used to be an adjuster and this looks like an insurance claim all the way. thats not a cheap repair on your car.

I had a similar incident, car in front stopped at a light, pulled ahead slightly then stopped, me not paying attention thought the light was green, front bumper and hood damaged as I slow speed hit them in the rear. Total cost close to $6K for the repairs - new bumper, hood, paint, and clear bra. Go with insurance including diminished value.

+1 on the "excuse" to get a GT3 bumper. That's what I did.
Mobile repair shop????? I have seen some of the work they do, I would't let them touch a lawn mower. Sorry to the OP, I would run it through insurance too and locate a shop based upon recommendation from other Porsche owners.
