can anyone disable seatbelt chime?
i'm looking for a way to disable the seat belt chime. sometimes, i take off my seat belt when i'm moving the car in reverse or pulling up into my apartment complex and the chime is so irritating. i always wear my seatbelt, but i hate to be told to do so.
anyone know anyway around this?

i asked my dealer, but carlssen porsche said that it can't be done because that would be illegal. and they didn't know how to anyway. anyone else around that would do it?
I hate this function on all cars, including my previous 997, but it is the ABSOLUTE WORST on BMWs...almost makes me want to cancel my M5 order, it annoys me so bad. I kept the 645cic I had only for a month because of it.
On Mercedes, it chimes but not very loudly so its not nearly as bad. If the radio is on you can barely hear it, unlike the BMW or the Porsche.

Can't be done on the newer ones. There is a way around it though. You can cut off the belt webbing from any buckle that's used in most German cars and use that.
