Brake Pad (RS29) & lubricant?

Just received my first set of Pagid RS-29 and will be installing them tonight.

I also bought the Pagid lubricant gel as well while I was at it. Should I apply the lubricant gel just at the back of the pads (facing the damper plate / pistons)? Where else should I apply it to while I have the wheels off?

Does this serve as anti-rust as well so that I can apply it to 2 screws holding the rotors?

Thanks

If its what I think it is, it goes around the metal contact points of the shim and caliper pistons. Use sparingly.

Otherwise the cylinder portion of the anti squeal pad can rust inside the piston, getting stuck and make future brake replacements a pain. I had to remove my caliper piston and drill out the squeal cylinder part to remove it on my last brake job.

Some people also ditch the anti squeal pads altogether, in which case you don't need the grease.

Thanks guy. Just completed the install. So far there's very little squeal, much better than I had expected.

But the pads are very tight fit. When I'm in D or R gear, the car barely move (as if the handbrake is engaged), it requires a touch of gas paddle to move the car. I'll wait until I bed them in and see how it goes.
