How to add Bose Subwoofer to Sounds Plus / ASK amplifier

I picked up my 06 C2 a couple weeks ago and loved all of it, except the stereo. I checked around the forums and the consensus was that we needed to replace everything! Which I'm not one for things that aren't stock. I thought the stereo was mostly fine, but there was NO bass. Any bass was completely distorted. I saw a couple threads on adding it to the HAES 6 Amp, but none for the regular ASK amp. So, I paid $15 on eBay and got a version of the FSM so I could get the wiring schematics.

Parts needed:
5 stranded 25 ft 20 AWG wire (different colors)
Electrical Tape
Wire stripper
Some molex connectors (I couldn't find any that were the right size, so I just compressed them to fit)
Heat shrink wire insulator
Bose Subwoofer

First things first, I wanted to make sure it worked!

Here's the test setup.

Since everything worked out, I started creating my wires. You won't need all 25 ft, but it's easier to cut some off than to add some on!

I also wrapped it with the heat shrinking wire insulator. Makes for a cleaner look and keeps everything together.

Next it to start feeding the wires. I used a drill with a 5/32 drill bit to drill through the rubber grommets. The firewall one, I drilled from inside through to the frunk. Be careful! There are important wires going through there!

To make it easier to pull the wires through, make sure to tie a pig tail on it. I fed one wire through the dash and then tied it to the other wires.

I'll leave it up to you on how you want to run the wires. I lifted up side of the carpet and ran it through there. I didn't have the tools to take off the side panel behind the drivers door, so right now it's just sticking out.

Lastly, you just need to connect all the wiring.

The amp plug is a straight line, and the A1 plug is missing a pin.

Hopefully this helps anyone looking to add some bass to their stock system. I personally love it. The difference is night and day!

Thank you very much for this thread.

Could you be more specific about which connectors on the ASK are connected to which on the BOSE
On the ASK I have at the right side (the farthest away from the power) 2 connections for Bass but these are the speakers in the doors. Where do you connect the subwoofer on the ASK ?

Thank you

Sorry

You did a great job
The white connector is the ASK
The connector you have drawn with 6 pins is the BOSE
A6 & A16 are the wires to the SUB speakers in the doors so these are splitted

Yes, the 6 pin is the BOSE connector.

And yes, I just used the right rear speaker as the audio to the BOSE. They are supposed to be full range from what I read. The Amplifier in the BOSE will remove some of the highs.
