I have read many of the threads on damaged front spoiler lips and I am interested because mine is in such horrible condition. Has anyone removed the lip from a 997.2 equipped with the OEM Aero Kit option? I was studying my lip from under the car and it appears to be much more involved than the other lips that I have seen described on this site.

How difficult is it to remove the existing lip? Ideally I want to replace it with something that has at least some pliability to avoid damage in the future. I have a white car, but I would consider black to match to the very lower edge of the spoilers that run down the side of the car.

I have an aero bumper on my 06 997 and replaced the black lip last week with a new one.
The old lip was complete chewed up and worn down after 2.5 yrs. the new lip is painted arctic silver to match the cars color.
I had to completely remove the front cover and used 'plastic panel removers' to pry the lip lose. Once the old lip was removed, it only took a few minutes to get the new one on, it snaps into place quite easily.

Pderover, the 997.1 and 997.2 Oem Aerokit bumpers are different.

I would definitely choose the 997 GTS lip (black and unpainted) if you do not want to scrape your front end .
