Finally, my first porsche!

I'm new to 6SpeedOnline but wanted to try posting a thread. I just purchased my first Porsche a week ago. I moved to Florida a little over a year ago and I've always wanted to own a Porsche 911. After looking on and off for a about a year, I found a great deal from a private seller on a 2006 Carrera S Cabriolet with 33K miles in the color I wanted. The car has been maintained extremely well and all maintenance was performed at a Porsche dealership. It has a clean CarFax and came with all the maintenance records. I'm pretty excited about the car and am looking forward to many years with it. I need to learn a lot about Porsches and I'm sure this forum will help a great deal. From the threads I've read so far, it seems like everyone is extremely helpful.

Congrats! 1st Porsche feelings are always unforgettable - and since it's a cab, you have 2 cars in one.

Believe me, you'll experience 2 different feelings with the top up and with it down! Trust me, I know!

Thanks. Do you ever wish you had a 4S instead of the 2S?

Congratulations. I will pass along words of wisdom learned long ago when owning a convertible, do not lock the car - ever. Hopefully should a crook desire to get into it, they will try the door first instead of cutting the top. Of course, never leave anything in plain view. Many happy miles and smiles.

Zuma-Never. I came from a Corvette/mercedes/BMW background and saw no advantage to awd..The 911 was a spur of the moment decision while I was planning to get my 8th Corvette. I saw the 911in my avatar online and I liked it better. It had no records but checked out clean with a PPI. I bought it with 27 k miles on it and put 3k miles in less than 3 months. It is now stored until spring and will be a daily driver until next winter.

Jim f; Thanks. I don't have a collection of cars and since I live in Florida, this is going to be my daily driver as well. Life's short and I want to enjoy all the road trips I can in her!
