did you notice any difference? Also, did you have to modify the airbox to accomodate the Oatley?

Not really apart from the sound.
Easy mod to do, takes a few minutes tops. You remove the airbox, open it by removing tje screwa on the back, once its open, press the old hose attachment into the airbox (the small one) and you'll have enough space for the plug. After tjat put it togetjer and install your new hose. Easymode.

you know you can accomplish the same thing for free and keep the stock airbox. Google the "Cap" mod. All you have to do is take off the small hose, place a cap from either Mobile1 or Castro Syntec upside down in the exposed hole (the lip on the cap will prevent it from going all the way in and it will fit very snugly). then just put the small hose back on with the hole now plugged by the cap. This forces all of the air through the large hose and does make for a more aggressive sound. I had that on my 06 for about a year before I upgraded to a GT3 Throttlebody and 82mm plenum.

I've got an '09 997.2 with the competition intake system
http://www.fabspeed.com/porsche-997-...intake-system/
and have found it to be great. Would have to dyno the car before and after to confirm a power increase (certainly doesn't feel slower!) but the biggest benefit is the sound at and above 5k rpm. Car just opens up and screams as you run toward redline and feels like it breathes a bit better, but that could be due to the noise. Been on the car for a year and had numerous track days, mountain driving, etc and no issues.

All sound. 0 increase. Low end is horrible with this installed. Sounds cool at higher RPM. But not worth it for me.

Looks good.

No one ever asks whether there is a loss in filtration that comes with the increase in noise. I can't imagine it is worth it to let more cr@p into the motor so it sounds differentmor makes 1/2 hp more. Don't get me wrong, I do not know the answer and I'm sure it is system and filter dependent. Just sayin nobody ever asks

I don't know if more junk gets in the because of the filter. I do know that when I had the single HAI ( Hit Air Intske ) I had to clean the filter more often. So was it stopping more ?

I know that dirt and junk comes up from the road via the engine bay and those filters have to do the job. Increased hot air doesn't mean more power!! Still looks cool!!

Lol lose of filtration. No offense but those air two large air filters on the end of each tube. I also hear people say it will suck in hot engine air. I don't buy it. When you close the engine lid there can't be more than a 1-2 inch gap between the heat shield and the lid. It would be pretty easy to get a reading of air temp that is passing by the mas. When I get it on the dyno I'll post results. Main reason for gains for this intake is how restrictive the factore 997.1 air box is. Don't think it will make 19 more whp like fabspeed states but I could see at least 10 maybe.

All it really does is by pass the Helmholtz resonator which results in a bit more gurgling noise at low rpms which I like.

The Helmholtz resonator was really a noise issue thing. it opens up at 1 believe around 3000 rpm anyway.
