It doesn't happen every time but on occasion my fuse blows when the spoiler is activated while driving on the highway. Its throwing codes U0155 and U0146 and I'm not able to clear them. Do I need to get a new instrument cluster control module?

U0155: Lost Communication With Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Control Module.

U0146: Lost Communication With Gateway "A".

Does replacing the blown fuse then allow you to clear the codes? If so these could be caused by a malfunctioning spoiler that blows a fuse which kills part of the CAN communication system.

If so fix the cause of the fuse blowing and you have fixed the cause of the error codes.

The instrument cluster control module is not AFAIK a field serviceable item. To get a new one would require I believe a new instrument cluster. Not cheap. 'course if the car is covered under warranty...

My best advice is to have the car looked at by a professional Porsche tech. These errors require more than just their basic description to be able to diagnose their true cause and address whatever this may be. This includes a possibly malfunctioning spoiler

Also, cycle the spoiler while parked and see if that causes the fuse to blow and if it binding on the way up and down.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Replaced the fuse but the fault did not clear. I cycled the spoiler up/down and it seems to be working fine. Took it out for a drive yesterday, no issues.

Now that i've driven it with no issues I'll try and clear the faults again. Hopefully it works this time.

For those error codes they might only be cleared using a Porsche diagnostic computer. Or with enough warm up cycles with the fault being detected. IOWs, the DME clears the codes after a while.

I'm not even sure a battery disconnect would clear them and frankly I do not like messing with the battery and its connections to the car. Too many chances to make a misteak and screw up the car's electrical system.
