~$5000+ worth of bolt-ons (intake, full exhaust) and a tune for 15-20% increase in power, depending on which manufacturers you choose for your parts.

Or spend $20k on a big bore build.

No other options that give you real bang for buck power without going with Forced Induction, or upgrading the car to a higher model.

Thank you very much for the information. What brand do you recommend?

I won't go into brands, but there are several choices mentioned, including the OEM X51 parts in the thread below. I would recommend reading through the entire thread to understand what bolt-ons will do for you and whether it's a route you choose to pursue.

i have all those bolt ons, spent way more than $5k, and got nowhere near 15-20% increase. maybe 10% to be generous.

go turbo bc all those bolt ons arent really worth it.

+1. Easy to over look this option. 100lbs and up is great way to improve performance.

Forget it. Other than F/I your 3.6 isn't going to get that much with bolt-ons. My last 997 was a non-S and I actually got some enjoyment from the "Sport" module. Although it didn't have any power improvements, it did make the throttle response much more responsive. It was also a Tiptronic and helped a lot with the shift points.

For my S I'm still looking at the GT3 TB and IPD Plenum with a tune. For sound I'm toying with the idea of the Fabspeed dual CAI, but from what I've read it too is marginal in performance and more of a "sound mod" and engine bay "eye candy".
