2008 C2S 6spd. Worth it?

Hey everyone

I'm looking to possibly buy my first Porsche.

its a 08 C2S 40k miles he wants $40,000.
Not my favorite color but low mileage and 2nd owner is a plus.

Would you think this is a good buy? or about regular price?
I have attached pics and details

Options I believe:
-PSE
-PASM
-power seats
-sunroof
-bose

Thoughts and opinions would be greatly appreciated!!!

John

I see LA plates on the car... if it's from New Orleans I wouldn't go near it. Having attended Tulane I can tell you there is no more abusive place on a car (way worse than Manhattan). Most messed up roads out of any city I've ever been in and the chances of that car having been in some deep water at some point are pretty good... just my two cents.

Tough one to assume that the car has been underwater just because of where it is.

But OP should ask all those important questions. It's so hard to trust people these days.

Unless you are dying to spend the money I would do some additional looking, especially for the color you want. There are plenty 997.1 cars out there, I have one.

Silver is not for everyone, it's an easy color to keep clean. I would wait for the color you want if not, you can always wrap it any color you like. Get a PPI if interested.

I had a Polar Silver 964 and you could rarely tell when it was dirty. I liked the color, not the car.

If it's GT Silver, that's actually a beautiful color for a silver as it has some black mixed in. When it's clean it looks deeper and morning interesting and when it's dirty, it doesn't look that dirty. I s
wasn't specifically looking for GT Silver when I bought mine, but an glad that's what I ended up with. Meteor grey with a cocoa interior would have probably been my first choice, but it's hard to find cocoa interior pieces when wanting to do upgrades.

A flash does cool things with GT Silver and the body lines too.

It definitely has PSE. Sport Chrono? Hard to tell from the photos. Those are the best wheels for the 997.1. May still have the primary belt. You could easily spend $1000 on a good service straight away. Could need tires, battery, and other wear items. 2009 and up are safer bets.

Get the color you want. Don't settle just to scratch the itch.

GT Silver is beautiful and was a $3,000 option. My '08 RS60 was GT Silver (as all of them are) and I miss the car and color equally. GT Silver is especially gorgeous when matched with a Carrera Red full leather interior.

I think its Artic Silver,
2nd owner,
fresh tires 5k miles supposedly.
Mainly looking for a 997.1 <50k miles.
IDEALLY want one with a aero kit.. white, meteor grey, yellow would be first picks.
But if its a great deal then i would pick it up

I'm not making the assumption that any car in NO has been "under" water. However, anyone who's lived there at some point can tell you that anytime there are decent showers the city fills up a lot and quickly. One wrong turn trying to get home in the rain and you can end up in some pretty large puddles - more like ponds. Aside from potential water though and more concerning to me is that the under carriage and suspension components of any car driven in that city has been subject to abuse beyond your worst NYC street nightmares. It's just a bad city for the cars we love...
