Cleaning your 911 - Best Vacuum?
Cleaning your 911 - Best Vacuum?
Looking for something with a lot of suction. What do you guys (and girls) like the best? One of the big issues I have right now is that my daughter ate a protein bar and some of the "frosting" is now embedded in the little micro holes in my leather seat
I've had a 4hp Vac & Blo for 5+ years. It is an awesome tool for sure. I also use it to dry my car (with filtered and heated air from the machine!) after each wash.
The only thing I would trade it for is an 8 hp version!
Try to get it on sale - Autogeek runs 20-25% no restrictions sales a couple times a year. Buy extra filters at the same time.

It dries incredibly well - much better to use than a leaf blower. I get the car 85-90% dry with the blower in <5 mins and then lightly towel dry the remainder with some quick detailer to help as a drying aid. The Metro vac I boughT comes with a cone like attachment which works just fine for drying. I also have an extra hose for drying but that isn't necessary.

looks awfully expensive?
No, this one. I got it for ~$200 shipped IIRC. Even at that price I thought it was expensive but now I know it was well worth it!

Vacuum the frosting as best you can. Then use a leather cleaner and work it in with a boars hair brush or a microfiber towels. Use a leather conditioner afterwards and you should be all set.

Nice choice -- now its time to shop for the best price.
I found BBB selling it for $229 with free shipping, and you can always find a 20% coupon for that place. https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/sto...FQypaQodzzgLXA
Only thing to watch out for is I don't think that comes with the wheeled caddy, so you instead either place the vacuum on the ground use the strap. I find the caddy very helpful for when I am vacuuming in the car, but use the strap when drying. I have seen the the caddy/dolly for $30-$40...maybe a better deal can be had if you look hard enough.
I ordered mine from Autogeek in 2011 (I looked it up) and it was the same as the one I linked but also included the wheeled dolly. I paid $189 -- it must have been a good promotion or sale. They run 20% off quite frequently but sometimes have exclusions -- I mentioned before a couple times a year they run a 25% off with no exclusions. They are priced much higher right now. http://www.autogeek.net/vacnbloporva.html
Also consider buying some extra dust bags when you buy the vac, otherwise you should be good to go.
