The reason i haven't driven my 997 lately- PICS Of Aircooled 1977

My 997 has been sitting in the garage for a month..i got the air cooled bug and ended up buying a 1977 911S with a 1983 3.0SC engine the car has 964 update on it, i bought it like that..i've added H4 headlights & lowered it..its a dream to drive..

So clean. Love the drop and simplicity. Are you running spacers up front? Looks like you have some negative camber in the rear

No spacers, just pretty big offset on those wheels, they were an extra set the seller gave me so can't complain. Either way i'm selling the car i think and getting one more original...got to enjoy it for 2 months, but the Porsche salesman in me took over lol..so far the only cars i've bought and not sold quick have been my main "996" which lasted 2 years w me, and my current 997

Agreed. 6speed forums has been a ghost town for about half a year, maybe more. RL forums are always active though.

thats what happens when no one posts or comments, the forum dies, they just want to lurk, learn, view and not participate. I'm not trying to get "kudos" on the car, its just an honest observation

I had a '78 911SC Euro spec as my first years ago and restored and modded it. I had a split case rebuid, upgraded with Mahle pistons and punched out, web cams, removed the AC, trans rebuild. I was living in St. Paul at the time (16 years) and could only drive her 6 months out of the year. I regretted the day I sold her but did so for remodeling funds on my home at the time. I loved that car and since then I've owned a 996, 997 and now my 997S - but the SC was another car altogether.

She looks terrific!

Such a good look! What are main differences in the drive of this and your 997?

Yes. And the mechanical sound of the air-cooled six is completely unlike the water cooled. Very intoxicating!
