How old is your battery? That's one of the first odd warning messages that pops up with low voltage and also every time you disconnect the battery. Was the car slow to crank when you went to Boxster later that day? Did it feel like the suspension automatically went to sport mode when the message appeared?

You might also want to ask in the Boxster / Cayman forum - this is the 997 forum.

I saw an article the other day on this. There is a switch operated by the brake pedal that can be problematic part number 996.613.113.02.

Best not to leave this
There could be a number of causes but ABS/PSM warnings are often caused by a faulty MAF sensor.

One time, while I was replacing brake pads, I forgot to plug in one of the ABS (and\or brake wear) sensors- that triggered a PSM warning.
