997.2 c2s

Hi guys,
Question for you long time Porsche enthusiasts. Was targeting getting a new car till next year but my old beater C300 is about to put to pasture.
My heart is set on a 991 C2S but there's a 997.2 C2s in the metallic black that I really like come available. It inly has 27,000 miles on it, pdk infotainment, sport chrono and is a CPO. Asking $54,900. I would use it a s a daily driver.
What are your opinions on it? Seems like a reasonable price especially with the low ,mileage and CPO.

Thanks in advance.

Price? I would drive both and see what suits you better. 991 larger, can get more creature comforts for a daily driver.

Sounds like a nice car, but two similar-generation Porsches in the stable (987 and 997) sounds a bit boring to me given how much automotive variety is out there.

I think that is a very fair price for the mileage and equipment.

If the other deal doesn't work out, add a little bit on the price and you can have my 2011 997 GTS. It's got some miles on it (60,200) but has been meticulously maintained (have all records) and is near flawless inside and out. Very cool car. Has OEM GT2 carbon fiber bucket seats ($11,600 at Suncoast Porsche), Forgeline GA1R wheels (about $7,000 for a set of 4), red gauge cluster, red belts and a customized OEM steering wheel with thicker padding and red stitching. Also has Sharkwerks bypass pipes but saved the OEM center muffler in case someone prefers that. Have it listed for 67K but will negotiate. Only about 2,500 997 GTS coupes were built if memory serves.

Why buy a Porsche with an automatic?? I don’t care if pdk can do lightening gear shifts. I’m not winning any medals for beating the Toyota Prius driving next to me or the diesel fog producing lifted truck with 47” tires.

First off, the PDK is not an automatic. It's a manual transmission that lacks that third pedal for reasons we all know. Then some questions. Why have 911's since the PDK was introduced been ordered with PDK over manual with an 80% to 20% margin? And why have both Ferrari and Lamborghini stopped offering manual transmissions altogether years ago no matter what you offer to pay? My guess is supply and demand. What's yours? New technology moves everything forward. Moving from cars to music, many think the best and purest sound still comes from old vinyl records but look where we are.

Here's Lamborghini's reasoning on the matter:

Badgered about the lack of a manual by journalists during a tech session on the new Huracán at the automaker’s headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese last week, chief engineer Maurizio Reggiani brought up the fact that just five percent of Gallardo orders were for a manual. Mid-sentence, he was interrupted by company CEO Stephan Winkelmann who commented that the 5 percent statistic was ancient.

“Close to zero percent Gallardos were ordered in manual,” he said.

In fact, orders for a manual transmission were so few and far between admits Winkelman that every time one came in they had to go back and re-check the order form, confirming with the dealership that a mistake hadn’t been made.

Also the top current highest horsepower 911 models (Turbo, Turbo S, GT3RS, GT2RS) are only available with PDK.
