Key stuck in ignition, can get out using the procedure, but gets stuck again, reset?

Ok so this has been a really crazy day. Started off by my battery being drained with my key in the ignition. Got home but was never able to pop frunk, so had to do the emergency frunk release inside drivers side wheel well. Finally jumped car using another car jumper cables. Went and drove around for an hour at 12:30am to charge battery enough where I could restart the car and also my slow charger would recognize it. Get back at 1:30am and all of that accomplished what I hoped it would. Now battery is at 98% and still charging

went to pull out key, and it’s still stuck inside ignition!!!! Did a few searches and found that there is an emergency key releases procedure that you use a tiny tool (like a paper clip straightened out) and put it in a hole next to the surrounding key ignition area and it releases the key. Problem is, if I put it back it, it gets stuck again and I have to for through the procedure again!! I then read where someone says to disconnect battery for 10 min and then put the key in and it will “relearn” the key. Well I did this, actually longer because I wanted to make sure I gave it enough time. And sure enough, it still gets Stuck!!

anyone familiar with this last step? Is there anything specific I need to do besides pull the battery for a while for it to “relearn” my key?

i did figure out that if I keep the little paper clip like tool in the small hole that I can in fact drive the car, turn it on and off AND be able to take out the key. But I don’t want to have to drive my car rigged that way. Anyone have any further advice it would be much appreciated. Almost 2:30am now and I have official tapped out until tomorrow.

Any help would be much appreciated. I can’t be the only one to experience this issue. Thx
