Winterizing oil change detail.
Winterizing oil change detail.
Gents, from time to time I find myself second thinking basic things which is probably the case with this question...
Flushed the spring Mobil 1 and filled-up with Motul 8100 and filter. I filled it but left room for a ceratec oil additive that was recommended be poored in in the spring.
I went for a ride to fill the car up and came home to perform the oil change. The car will stay in the garage until spring and will not move from its current position... Meaning it won't be started.
Question since I am not familiar with storing cars for winter.... Once the car is filled with new oil... Do you start the car to allow the new oil to circulate, or is it better to simply not start the car til spring?

I'd start the car to move the oil around and fill the filter so you can get an accurate level reading. I assume the gas already has stabilizer in it, tires will be pumped up, and battery put on a tender.
I'll see her on a daily basis, but I'll miss driving her for sure.
