Does the 997 S sport suspension lower the car when you hit the button?
How do things get affected with springs? Does it make no sense to get coilovers?

thanks.

From what I know all it does it adjust the shocks, not ride height level.

Delbox is infamous around these parts
The S has PASM as standard; that has 2 modes - selected by the button with the shock absorber on it. The 2 modes are normal and sport; normal is the default. PASM has the suspension lowered by 10mm compared to cars without the active suspension. If you have opted for sports suspension, instead of PASM, then the suspension is lowered by 20mm and stiffened - and a rear differential lock is fitted. Back to PASM - where in normal a more compliant ride results compared to sport where the ride is stiffened and harder. However, irrespective of the chosen setting, the PASM is infinitely variable between the 2 settings - which only select the start point, at each end of the scale. Depending on how the car is driven, and the surface that the car is on, PASM will adjust its compliancy to optimise handling.

Does that help?

So if I drop the car an inch or so with H&R springs it should not affect anything right?
Thanks for the info btw.

Hi Shawn,

I don't know if you can fit lowering springs without adversely affecting PASM performance - or your warranty.

There are several people that run aftermarket springs with PASM. Most seem to really like the results.

so far the only solution to lower the PASM car is the springs. we've run Techart & Eibach springs without problems & maintain the same ride quality. some people do complain it's not aggressively lowered like u can do with coilovers but going too low on just springs is not a smart idea anyways. however, i personally think the height with springs is perfect not slammed. Bilstein is working on a coilovers set up which will work with PASM. just matter of time.

Heres is a good animation of how PASM and the sport button effect the shocks. SO you are OK replacing the springs but not the shocks. Check it out

Here is my car with H&R and PASM

Hit refresh after you link to the Porsche website if the animation is not there. I am running an IE7 Test Build so i can not tell if this only happens on my system

What would you prefer with PASM TechArt or H&R springs ...?
Is there any difference in hight between these two ...?

I'm happy with my (front) hight & setting, but I'm looking for something to adjust the (back) hight ... just by 10-20mm

from experience the H&R seems to drop slightly more. looks like Eibach or Techart springs fit ur need better.

B7R, TechArt springs don't lower the car as much as H&R springs do. You'll be fine with the TechArt.
