Need a 997 S cab...

Guys,
I'm new here and need some help...AWESOME SITE by the way!!

here goes... My dad needs/wants a 997 S cab in gt silver.... He has a 996 cab (seal grey) right now and doesn't want to trade it, hes keeping it forever....

So heres the dilemma... gt silver is a rare color, and hes NOT changing his mind... he wants it pretty much tomorrow but all the dealers he's checked at said it needs to be ordered.... hes cool with doing a used...LOW MILES as in < 1500ish... so where might he find one???

Also, what is a reasonable price and reputable dealer to buy from..we are in chicago.... anyone know of anything?

Is 1500 miles gonna take the initial depreciation hit out of the way??

Thanks for any of your help!!!

p.s. he realizes used can = abused....

dealers here in socal are selling slightly used 997s at full MSRP. at least that is what they are asking. they will likely give more disount, but definitely not enough to take away the initial depreciation.

This is the case where you want to pay couple thousand off the MSRP and you go order one. If you want to pick one now and you pay full MSRP.... I waited 2 full months for my seal gray C2S Cab with 2,000 off the MSRP!!!

i wonder why 2 cabs? he should just order it unless the dealer can find one. look on ebay too. as for discount, if he's in a hurry for one, i doubt it'll be much discounted.

The 996 cab is the first porsche he bought....sentimental to him...and he likes the new one enough to justify purchase i suppose...
