PDK button clacking noise when shifting
Greetings,
I have an annoying problem with my PDK buttons on the steering column. They used to be pretty silent when I shifted, and now they have become louder with a “clack“ sound when I shift on actuation or the return when both upshifting and downshifting.
I did notice that there is a split line on the button, joining the forward and the backside of the button, but trying to open them doesn’t look like a very straightforward procedure.
Has anyone else had this experience? And if so, how did you resolve? Is there a way to separate the 2/2 of each button without removing the steering wheel etc? Even then, what can be done to resolve? Everything shifts fine, no functional issues, but the noise is driving me crazy. (no pun intended)
