Fuel sensor question

since i have my C4 whenever i filled up the gas tank with small amount of fuel (10 dollars or so, under a quarter of tank) the gas still registered as empty. But as soon as i fill it up it is back to normal. This morning, a week after filling it up, the check engine light went on so i stopped at my porsche tech at local dealer and he hooked up the IPSIS computer and it displayed 2 things- one was the fuel sensor is not working properly and second there was some type of leak in a line. My tech seems to feel the leak signal is correlated to the fuel sensor issue and nothing major. So he cleared it and told me to just make appt. to check fuel sensor. Anyone else experience this with new 997?
