I would not wait 3 months but you did it injoy

 

Remember, it's not about total mileage for break-in.
You need to vary the engine speed while doing the break in. Also do some 3/4 throttle runs followed by liftin off to get some oil sucked around the rings. Just cruising on the freeway/highway for 2k miles doesn't really get the job done as well.

 

It would probably take me a week to break it in. I travel 80 miles a day just to go to work. ENjoy your car!
