a good friend of mine raced a (stock) 996tt "auto". he has an e46 m3 supercharged with 455 to the wheels. they went from a 2ed gear roll. the turbo had 2 cars at 140. how is that possible? the turbo claims to be stock he also said that he ran a Lamborghini Murcielago from a dead stop and he had a car up to like 130. and it also sounded stock. also what is faster a 996tt or a 997 carrera S (launch model)........

You sure it's 455 to the wheels? or crank.. the dinan M3 supercharged is only 423HP/310lbs of torque... which compared to stock 911turbo of 420HP/400lbs of torque... he is gonna lose...LOL.. plus tiptronic is easier to shift

 

E46 M3 is not that fast, even when supercharged. Trust me, I have one (not S/C), I know.

 

I think the M3 should win without major problems against a stock 996TT, specially TIP gearbox.

I remember racing my brother both STOCK the 996TT against the M3... i blew him away in every gear but if i let him intentionaly go ahead for a split of a second in 2nd i wouldn't catch him untill 5th. And i'm a really good driver (not that i'm bragging).

 

I had a supercharged M3 and i have to say, mine was far from base (stg 2+ over 450whp and 400 torque as well) and my stg 2 turbo is much much quicker then the M3 was, but not by bus lengths i dont think. I would pull on my M3 by a few cars probably maybe even more, this is based off the few seconds faster to 140 from 40 tests ive done in both. But to stock espcially tiptronic, M3 should win IMO!

I would def. say SC m3, 996tt tip stock, 997S.

you did what?!!! a stock n/a M3 vs a stock 996 TT and the M3 was faster... common STIG... that's a big statement.... the only logical explanation there is that your brother doesn't know how to drive...

 

Read again what i posted... I said IF I let him go first from 40 in 2nd I wouldn't catch him until 5th gear. Myself driving the 996.

 

that makes more sense now... I was wondering... but it also illustrates a great point on racing... you let a slower car go first and then you nail it you still have to try hard as hell to beat it...!!!

 

Can you tell me the color of this M3? 455whp is looking like a stage 2 SC M3 if its an AA kit. It should have absolutely no problem against a stock K16 996TT. It should even pull on a stock X50 TT, but it will have some trouble against a stage 2 996TT. If your stories are correct then your friend doesnt have a stock TT.

Murcielago will beat a stock TT pretty easily.

Oh noeesss the lies start again. Although you tried to make yours far from base it didnt happen. Your car wasnt a stage 2+, i doubt it ran right at all. You even claim HP numbers without proof. 450whp? How do you know that? So now you raced your Porsche against your old M3? Oh i see you can devaite the number of cars your porsche is faster by counting seconds of a speedo video.

 

I only get ideas of speedo comparisons from other people, such as when you were doing it by chance (Cough HYPOCRITE Cough)? Maybe even the greats of the forum, Jean, Bill S, Alex, yea they all compare also, thanks Vik

Dan dyno'd my car, that's how i know and i never said i raced my old M3 or said how many length's i beat it by or beat it at all, i say SHOULD based off other test's, again making **** up, thanks though!

 

Actually ive only compared M3 speedos to each other. You showed me your speedo and timed yourself and compared it to other models of cars.

So your M3 was dynod after it left your hands. Maybe he fixed some issues? Where is this dyno?
